From what I've heard on the TV, someone had bought some snakeheads to make soup from (asian dish) and ended up releasing them. Don't know how true that is though.

This photo was probably taken in Thailand, because that is where the guy in the photo likes to fish for snakehead. You can be certain it is somewhere in southeast asia, and NOT the US. You will not find Channa micropeltes, such as this magnificent specimen, living in US waters (bad news for those of us who would love to fish for them and keep them in huge aquaria.) So everybody calm down.

destruction of what,maryland waters are peace of crap,nothing there 2 destroy,this is the 1 of more spectacular fish id ever seen,had 1 of those my self in my ciclid tank,now i hawe channa obscura,but i like the micropeltes better
