In the wild, a snakehead eats all the time, meaning whatever he can find. In captivity, the number of feeder golds doesn\'t matter because you should feed enough as to when he\'s finally full, he should have about 3 of them left over. That gives him a chnace to digest the others, while start looking around for more. That\'s the only way to keep them not so aggressive, and for them not to break your glass tank!!! (Acrylic is much better!!) Because of how I feed mine, he lives in a tank shared by a red bellied pacu and the two get along great! (Pleco is on the verge of a heart attack because of the other two!!)
Also, feeder golds are the worst things you can feed. In addition to gold, try to get your hands on some scraps of beefheart from the boucher shop, they love that stuff!! Also, if you can, cold mice pinkies!! (They hate warm food, don\'t know why though)
To really keep them happy, make sure thay have a hiding spot in your tank, or some vegetation where they can hide and literally hunt for their food.
I hope this will be usefull to anyone that wants to keep snakeheads!
